About this experience
A day safari gets you the sightings. Two nights gets you the rest of it — the sunrise drive with a blanket over your knees, the sundowner stop on a ridge, the sound of the bush after dark from your deck.
You stay in a four-star lodge on the Pilanesberg boundary with en-suite rooms, a pool and a boma for dinner, and you go out with the lodge's guides on four scheduled game drives across your stay.

Your day, hour by hour
Day 1
Transfer and afternoon drive
Midday collection in Johannesburg, lodge check-in, an afternoon game drive with a sundowner stop, and dinner in the boma.
Day 2
Sunrise and sunset drives
Coffee before first light and a long morning drive, free time at the lodge over the heat of the day, then an afternoon drive running into a spotlit night section.
Day 3
Final drive and return
A last sunrise drive, breakfast at the lodge, checkout and the transfer back to Johannesburg or OR Tambo.
